What is EndNote

What is EndNote?

EndNote is a reference management software application. You can use Endnote to:

Create your own library of references:

  • Download (export) references from databases or catalogues
  • Import pdf files and generate the matching reference data
  • Organise your references into groups
  • Add keywords, labels or notes into the fields provided
  • Attach pdfs or other file types to the references for convenience

Create in-text citations and reference lists or bibliographies:

  • Insert in-text citations (may be author-date or numbered) into your documents or Powerpoints, with reference list
  • Create a bibliography from your library
  • Choose from 7000+ reference styles provided by EndNote - standard such as APA, Harvard, Vancouver or specific journal styles
  • Easily change your document from one style to another

Collaborate and write with colleagues or a research team

  • Share your complete desktop EndNote library, or
  • Share just a Group of references, via EndNote Online
